Understanding Print Speed
Your maximum print speed is limited by how fast your hotend can melt filament. This is called volumetric flow rate (mm³/s).
Formula: Max Speed = Max Flow / (Layer Height × Line Width)
Typical Max Flow Rates
- Stock hotend (E3D V6, etc.) — 10-15 mm³/s
- High-flow (Volcano, CHT) — 20-35 mm³/s
- Bambu Lab / Prusa XL — 20-30 mm³/s
